From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might appear unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing started the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, striking the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a individual motive to exit the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as important members in House Halovar could enable the group access locations they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that control the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The cleric turned against the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the traitor.
What’s Next?
Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Explorers and Strategists groups.
Audiences can look forward to discovering which players will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
