Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any damage is not yet known and the US has not commented.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - said they have intercepted missiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted areas associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.

Officials reported debris landed in a residential area in the capital, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
