Esteemed Star Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at Age 60.
Stateside entertainer Finn, who was seen in popular television series including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles on Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer since 2022, according to news outlets.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones said in a message.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of well-known programs, including:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight series over nearly a decade.
His work in movies are "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he shared online.
The actor is remembered by his wife Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
