Week 10 again delivered, with a major surprise for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that attracts so many people into the NFL

That result may have opened things up for the New England Patriots to move back into a top spot they formerly held, with a remaining games that provides them an edge over their eight and two rivals

Meanwhile in the NFC the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to set up a major confrontation next week, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award

Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen try too much or could it simply have been a bad day for the Bills?

Was it just an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Buffalo team to answer

The Buffalo squad had won seven in a row against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the beginning as the Miami team ran out 30-13 winners in an eye-opening outcome - and display

MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the team's opening first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the fourth - admittedly Miami had ten days to prepare but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the NFL's best offenses

Tua Tagovailoa threw two touchdowns but running back Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two scores

Bottling up the NFL's top running game was also key, with Cook and company registering just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the year and just over half their 161.5-yard season average

Then there were the three crucial ball losses, and the two from Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the end zone resulting in a nine-minute drive produced nothing, and his final quarter fumble that Miami converted to a touchdown just later

It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defense and Allen trying to do too much to dig his team out of it - not the composed, disciplined, balanced Buffalo team we've witnessed this year

Miami have demonstrated a varied performances this year so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an instant response in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers next week as the Patriots are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the AFC East

In Focus - New England Identify Route to Surprise Top Seed

Regarding the New England, they're one of three different 8-2 teams in the NFL, all AFC teams, but could they be the best?

One could pick holes in the Patriots, the Broncos and Indianapolis really for feasting on the weaker opponents, with just five of their total 24 wins achieved against opponents with a winning record - and one example was the Colts defeating the Broncos

Denver beat the champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can ride Jonathan Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's win in Tampa to their primtime win in Orchard Park seems like a statement

Their two defeats occurred in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's first three contests, with seven straight victories, just like the Broncos, from that point - but defeating Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to get ready was significant

Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he certainly earns point for courage after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to steer his side to success

The defense is solid and first-year running back Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 yards and two exciting touchdowns of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth runner to break 22mph this year on his initial touchdown

While you can debate who 'the best' is technically, the Patriots should be favourites to finish with the best record due to their schedule - which includes just a single matchup against a winning team, although a huge one against the Bills

Visiting Baltimore is challenging too, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Kansas City to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also challenge for top seed but face the identical challenge) and additionally the Packers on the schedule

The Colts also play the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two games with the 5-4 Jaguars to face. There is a considerable distance to travel but the door is open for a shock top seed in the AFC

Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Set for Next Week Clash

Two teams with solid claims to be better than all of the three 8-2 teams are NFC West opponents the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who both put up forty points to go to seven and two before the upcoming major game between the two in Los Angeles

Both have secured four victories in a row, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Darnold playing at an high standard (although Darnold had turnover issues on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses giving up under 20 points a game

Both could easily be undefeated as well - especially the Rams as their pair of losses came in extra time against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a game-winning kick with the final play deflected and returned by the Philadelphia for a score

The Seahawks also lost to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in week one, before losing to the final play of the game against the Buccaneers - so they're truly among the best sides in the league

The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season to date

Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
